Fox Entertainment launches international unscripted format fund
FOX Entertainment and his home studio FOX Alternative Entertainment (FAE) have launched an international unscripted format fund to identify intellectual property for the global market, announced Charlie necklace, CEO, FOX Entertainment.
As part of FOX Entertainment’s strategy to create and diversify its portfolio of content and revenue sources, the fund will invest and develop concepts for unscripted programs of international origin, ranging from reality TV to variety series meetings and other genres for provincial networks and platforms. By providing local broadcasters with profitable programming, FAE will co-produce series selected by the fund with each series partner. Rob Wade, president of Alternative Entertainment and Specials at FOX Entertainment, will be responsible for overseeing the fund.

“Most of the most powerful series that changed the face of television were unscripted formats that originated outside of the United States,” Wade added. “With a deep well of undiscovered ideas around the world waiting to be recognized, the AWF is ready to deploy this format fund to partner with creators and local networks to develop broad, profitable programming. and innovative which, if successful, will also benefit FOX here at home.
FAE recently produced the brand new variety competition program The big deal for Virgin Media Television in Ireland in partnership with BiggerStage, based in Dublin. The hit series, presented by Vogue Williams and starring famous judges, including pop legend Boy George; comedian and actor Deirdre O’Kane; Aston Merrygold, formerly of JLS and recent finalist on The masked singer UK; favorite on talent shows, Jedward; and music star Lyra, marks the channel’s most successful original format launch, gaining its 20% time span across overall viewers and improving the slot average by 50% since the start of the year. The big deal was created and owned by FAE.
FAE was formed in 2019 to oversee the production of FOX’s hit song contest series and # 1 prime-time TV show. THE MASKED SINGER. In addition to THE MASKED SINGER, FAE produced I CAN SEE YOUR VOICE, the new unscripted program # 1 from last season, THE MASKED DANCER, NAME THAT TUNES and Fox’s New Years Eve 2021 Toasts & Roasts, as well as co-produced ULTIMATE LABEL. All new programs produced by FAE include the guessing and baking contest CRIME SCENE KITCHEN, hosted by Joel McHale and this summer’s # 1 news program (with Fly on the Wall Entertainment); the singing competition ALTER EGO, with Grammy Award winners Alanis Morissette and will.i.am, actor / singer Nick Lachey and producer / songwriter / performer Grimes and Emmy winner Rocsi Diaz; DOMINO MASTERS, with hosting Eric Stonestreet; and SUPERIOR LEVEL CHIEF, the next evolution of cooking contests, hosted by Gordon Ramsay and the recently announced Studio Ramsay Global.
