KFC goes ‘Biryummmmy!’ with the new Biryani bucket

Mumbai: KFC fans and Biryani aficionados nationwide are in for a treat as Colonel Sanders grants their wishes in true KFC style – with the brand new KFC Biryani Bucket. In a unique combination, KFC’s signature chicken now comes with tasty Biryani rice and nothing less than the biryani of your dreams.

The original campaign, featuring actor Piyush Mishra, was designed by Ogilvy. The film opens with Colonel Sanders de-stressing in a laugh club and laughing, when another participant, Mishra, asks him how fantastic is KFC’s fried chicken, when is he planning to make biryani. The Colonel’s struggles begin as he is questioned by fans asking “Biryani Kab Banaoge?” practically everywhere he goes! He gets up and heads straight for the kitchen, to whip up a bucket of KFC Biryani, before happily announcing that ‘Biryani Loverzz…. Ab wait hai overzzz!’

“There is certainly something warm and familiar about a Biryani, just as there is no greater joy than holding a bucket full of KFC chicken. The campaign film illustrates how fans of KFC wanted us to bring together two of their greatest loves – their favorite KFC chicken and their tasty biryani,” said Moksh Chopra, CMO of KFC India. “We are thrilled to return a KFC version of this beloved cuisine, and the KFC Biryani Bucket is a hallmark in our journey of designing innovative products.

“A KFC version of the Biryani was an idea whose time had come,” commented Ogilvy North’s creative director, Ritu Sharda. “The KFC page reflected that people wanted for a while. So when KFC finally put their own spin on the cult favorite Biryani, all our campaign had to say was: you wanted it. We got it. .”
